Steve Whitney began helping his father and grandfather remodel homes when he was only fourteen years old. His family owned Paul's Discount Store, a popular hardware store located on Superior Avenue in downtown Cleveland. Throughout the early 1970s they expanded their offerings to include all types of interior home remodeling projects. After Steve earned his electrical and plumbing licenses, he began remodeling kitchens and bathrooms, and the company has since moved to Independence, Ohio and evolved into Independence Kitchen & Bath. Independence Kitchen & Bath is an interior home improvement company offering a complete range of commercial and residential services, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, ceramic tile, painting and decorating, cultured marble, doors, hardwood floors, gas line installation, sewer work, and snaking drains.
