The AmeriSuites® in Independence was opened in February 1996 as a limited services hotel. The all-suite hotel provides their guests with a complimentary breakfast buffet, in addition to small in-suite mini-kitchenette. Ten years later there are big changes going on at AmeriSuites®, and Director of Sales Karen D'Amico has been kind enough to provide us with this overview of the hotel's operations;
AmeriSuites® is a limited service all-suite hotel featuring a wide range of amenities. Our guest rooms are twenty-five percent larger than the standard hotel rooms, and each features a wet bar and a mini-kitchenette complete with microwave oven, mini-refrigerator, sink, counters, and cabinets. Our entire hotel provides free, high-speed wireless Internet access, not only in the guest rooms but in the lobby, as well. We have an indoor heated swimming pool, and an on-site fitness center that's open twenty-four hours a day.
Each morning our guests are presented with a bountiful breakfast buffet, compliments of the hotel. Our extensive selections include dry cereal, oatmeal, fresh fruit, bagels, muffins, Danish, Belgian waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, juices, coffees, and teas.
We have 1,200 square feet of meeting space that can be partitioned into 400 or 800 square foot sizes, depending on your needs. Through our off-site catering affiliate, we host all types of functions including rehearsal dinners and banquets. We're the perfect meeting location for groups, interviews, and training sessions.
Within the past year AmeriSuites® was purchased by Hyatt Select Hotels Group and is being transitioned into a Hyatt Place. Our complete room renovation will take place between May and July 2006, our conference rooms will be completely remodeled, and our new lobby will be completed by the end of the year. With the exception of the outer shell of the building and the windows, we'll be a brand new hotel!
The front desk will be replaced with a check-in kiosk, and desk staff will become gallery hosts. The entry will resemble a large, comfortable living room, and as you enter the hotel the gallery hosts will ask if they can be of assistance, get a beverage for you, or perhaps something to eat. Once our twenty-four hour a day food service operation begins, you'll even be able to order something from the kitchen at 2:00 in the morning and have it delivered to your room.
Our new guest rooms are going to be luxurious! They'll have Hyatt Grand beds, forty-two inch plasma televisions, and Wi-Fi technology that will be second to none. Eventually, our guests will be able record a program on TiVo at home and watch it here while they're at our hotel.
