Independence Florist was founded in 1975. Sandi Selig-Berry grew up in the family's floral business learning to make corsages when she was only ten years old, working at the shop throughout her college years, and purchasing the shop in 1998. We visited with Sandi recently, and listened as she spoke of Independence Florist's services and offerings;

Independence Florist is a full service florist specializing in floral arrangements for weddings, funerals, parties, proms, corporate events, and other special occasions. We have a large inventory of fresh flowers, tropicals, plants, European/dish gardens, contemporary and tradition arrangements, high-style floral arrangements, silk arrangements, and dried floral arrangements. We carry an extensive gift line, including gourmet and fruit baskets, gift baskets, greeting cards, and candles. We offer daily deliveries throughout Cuyahoga County, in addition to parts of Lake, Summit, and Medina Counties.

We're committed to offering only the finest floral arrangements and gifts backed by prompt, friendly service. Our reputation has been built on the quality of our fresh flowers. Each flower undergoes extensive hydration that includes always being cut under water and being properly fed, cooled, and refrigerated. Unlike standard or fancy grades that may last between two and ten days, our select varieties of flowers will last between two and four weeks when re-cut under water and having fresh water added daily.

I believe Independence is a great city. I live here, work here, and shop here. My daughter attends the local primary school, and our church, bank, and doctor are in Independence. We support the local schools and churches through donations, balloons for graduation, gift certificates for the prom, and advertising for sporting events.
